I wanna be the girl that you point to in a crowd and say 'that's her'
[two]
So there's this boy and he sorta....kinda....stole my heart

There's something about you...I swear I don't know what, but it makes me absolutely crazy

I like that whole 'single-flirty thing' but sometimes I wouldn't mind that whole 'holding-hands. I'm his girl thing'

12 days till Christmas <3
| 2 down, 2 more to go! - Can't believe this semester has gone by so fast!! Thursday 9th December 2010 - GIS (GEOG 281) Monday 13th December 2010 - Fluvial Geomorphology (GEOG 201) Tuesday 14th December 2010 - Advanced Statistics (ENVS 278) Wednesday 15th December 2010 - Field Ecology (ENVS 200)
Accomplishments this semester- 1. Gotten a boyfriend and then broke up with him 2. Started dating another guy 3. Managed to score 90's on midterms 4. Gone clubbing (compared to last year) 5. Had a no-attachment relationship with a guy 6. Gotten rid of Facebook (cold turkey for 1 month now!!)
I would say so far this semester has gone pretty well. Except I kind of miss Facebook, not going to lie. Anyways, enough about what I've accomplished. There is something that is really putting a toll on my mood and stressing me out quite a bit. I absolutely need to find a job for the Winter term. I don't care where it is, HK or Canada, I just need a job!! Co-op is such a good idea theoretically, but it sucks for those who can't find a job 2 weeks away from the beginning of the work term. Realistically, it really isn't that great. You pay and extra $500 for Co-op fees and all they do is give you access to the job system for the university. However, not everybody will be successful in getting a job through them. So we pay and extra $500 CAD for a service that we are not guaranteed. On top of that, Co-op is a 4.5 year programme which means that you will have to pay MORE tuition just to get work experience. I like that idea, but it's not always that ideal. The university definitely downplays the percentage of people getting jobs during the Co-op term.
Another thing that is bothering me is my Ecology professor. The first week of lectures, he confronted us and told us that he doesn't care about course evaluations because he is retiring. What an awesome start to the course. He doesn't care! This certainly reflected his enthusiasm and his need to screw us over with the midterm. I really wish I switched into the other Ecology class. Their average for the midterm was 10% higher than ours! Also, their professor doesn't rant and go on and on about how "Trees are not lollipops!!!" and yelling at us for not knowing something that the majority of the class got wrong. I mean clearly if we all got it wrong then it's something you should look at. The problem could lie with you!! Has he ever thought about that? NO! Also, publishing the WRONG lab manual and then telling us the night before the lab was due that it is wrong really doesn't add to your popularity. And when he finally apologizes, he blames half of it on us!! REALLY?! I get that if we saw the mistake we could have pointed it out, but also how the heck would we know that it was a mistake if we're learning the material!? BESIDES, the example was correct, only the equation was wrong, and that's YOUR fault for publishing the WRONG lab manual. This is the WORST class I have EVER taken, thank god it's not my core course (I can pass with a 65%).

| In my opinion, this is a really meaningful poem to keep close to your heart.
IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
